The students, faculty, staff, families, and community partners of Cesar Chavez Academy are dedicated to relentless pursuit of our goal of becoming a Title One Academic Achievement Award School. We strive to be a school that serves as a model for others. The faculty and staff work hard to provide an excellent education for all students. We firmly believe that all students can achieve at high levels. Cesar Chavez Academy is committed to using a cycle of continuous data-driven professional development, on-going support and collaboration to ensure powerful instruction. It is our belief that explicit support for our second language learners, and effective student intervention will help lead all students to success

Cesar Chavez Academy educates and empowers students with diverse backgrounds and needs through collaborative, rigorous instruction focused on social and academic goals.

 

Cesar Chavez is a unique school because of the diversity and lower socioeconomic status of almost all students. Cesar Chavez is located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, yet our homeless population is extremely high. Our students need support not only with academics, but also with basic needs, such as, food, shelter, and clothing. Our students continue to have high attendance rates despite their socionomic status.

 

Our goal is to work with parents as a partnership in order to support them and their students to become more successful.

 

The principal meets with every 8th grade student to talk about their progress on the state tests, as well as goal setting for high school. All 7th grade students are supported with progress checks monthly, and administration meets with them to discuss their behavior and academic progress twice a year.

 

Our PBIS program exists to support students with making positive choices around campus.
